Can our Nutritionist Amber help you?

I grew up in the Brecon Beacons in Wales as the eldest of four children and my childhood mainly centred around horses and being outdoors. After university I moved to London where I spent 18 brilliant years working in the city, but in 2007 my husband and I relocated to his home county of Wiltshire as we wanted a country childhood similar to both our own for our two children.

My interest in nutrition began after my daughter was born as, like any new parent, I wanted to feed her in the best way I possibly could. But it was a diagnosis of post-partum hypothyroidism after the birth of my son a couple of years later that led me to research widely as to how my diet and lifestyle choices could dramatically influence how I felt, and how much energy I had each day.

My knowledge grew as I read more and more widely about why my thyroid hormones had fallen in the first place, how to support my body to increase them naturally and how to alleviate my symptoms. The final push to retrain as a Nutritional Therapist came from a wonderful friend who encouraged me to turn all this new-found knowledge into a career and within days I had enrolled at the prestigious Institute for Optimum Nutrition in Richmond.

It took me four years to train in Nutritional Therapy and I loved the whole course with a passion – my family became bored stiff of my ‘all things nutrition’ conversations at mealtimes and would roll their eyes at my oft used phrase “it’s completely fascinating!” when I was explaining my latest learnings.

Since qualifying I mostly support women with hormonal health issues including perimenopause, thyroid issues and weight gain, as this is where my personal experience lies, but I‘m also a qualified Nutrigenomic (DNA) testing practitioner and am passionate about being able to offer my clients a truly personalised approach to their health by enabling them to identify their individual nutrition and lifestyle requirements based on their own unique genetic profile.

Overall, I love helping my clients to feel more nourished, balanced and energised, and to support them to enjoy the life they deserve.
